Kor Teeth Whitening

After years of use and enjoying coffee, red wine, and other foods and drinks, your teeth can become stained and dull. With professional teeth whitening at Cowley Dental Care, we can brighten your teeth, giving you a more luminous smile.  We offer both in-office and take-home whitening from Kor allowing you to enjoy the smile of your dreams.

Common Reasons for Dental Stains

There are many reasons why teeth can look yellow or discolored, such as:

Foods and Drinks – Coffee, dark berries, soft drinks, red wine, and sugary fruits and vegetables can stain the surfaces of your teeth.

Tobacco Use – Smoking, vaping, and chewing tobacco can alter the shade of your teeth and pose a risk to your oral health.

Poor Dental Hygiene – Not brushing, flossing, or rinsing thoroughly enough to remove plaque, bacteria, and stain-producing substances.

Medical Conditions – Some medical conditions can affect enamel (outer layer) and dentin (inner layer), leading to dental discoloration.

Medications – Certain medications can discolor teeth, such as antibiotics. Chlorhexidine and cetylpyridinium chloride present in some mouth rinses and antihistamines (like Benadryl) can also stain teeth. Antipsychotic drugs and blood pressure medications may cause stains as well.

Metal Dental Materials – Silver amalgam fillings and metal restorations can make teeth look grayish-black over time.

Aging – As we age, our enamel wears away and reveals the natural color of dentin, which has a yellowish tint.

Genetics – Some people are naturally predisposed to having thinner enamel, leaving the appearance of darker, duller teeth.

Environment – Excessive fluoride use can lead to a condition called fluorosis, which changes tooth enamel. This can result in white marks or mottling and demineralization of the enamel.

Trauma – Damage from a fall or broken tooth can cause internal damage that discolors the tooth.

Benefits of Teeth Whitening

There are many benefits of whitening your teeth, such as:

  • Your mouth will be healthier. Removing stains and discoloration from your teeth will strengthen them and improve their health.
  • You’ll have a serious self-esteem boost. Who doesn’t love a white, bright smile? People tend to be happier and more self-assured when they like their smile. Whiter teeth can give you the confidence to socialize and enjoy life without worrying about your smile.
  • It's fast and affordable. Cowley Dental Care offers Kor whitening, both in-office and take-home. Your treatment plan depends on your smile goals and your timeline, and you can whiten your teeth at your own pace and apply touch-ups when needed.

Transform Your Smile with Professional Teeth Whitening

Do you have a stained or discolored smile? Cowley Dental Care offers easy to use, low-stress teeth whitening kits you can use in the comfort of your own home. When you come in for your teeth whitening consultation, you and your dentist will discuss your smile goals, lifestyle, and dental health.

Based on your unique needs, our dentists will develop a customized treatment plan for you and provide you with a whitening kit best suited for you. During your teeth whitening appointment, we will take impressions or digital scans of your teeth, which will be used to create a custom-fitted mouthguard to use with your whitening kit. Once your mouthguard is completed, we will review all of the instructions in detail and answer any questions you may have.

Frequently Asked Questions

Teeth whitening is a popular cosmetic dental treatment that can benefit your oral health and your confidence. Bleaching your teeth can enhance your appearance, but more importantly, it can remove years of coffee, wine, and smoking stains. Having a whiter, brighter smile is achievable and easy with the assistance of one of our skilled and experienced dentists.

Professional Take-Home Teeth Whitening

At Cowley Dental Care, we offer safe and effective in-office and take-home teeth whitening treatments!  Whitening treatments provide patients with professional results, and they can make your teeth several shades brighter. Unlike store-bought teeth bleaching kits, professional treatments are personalized to fit your unique smile goals.

Our whitening treatments can be used as needed, or on a schedule recommended by one of our dentists. Now, you can achieve a brighter smile in the comfort of your own home and on your own schedule.

Keeping Your Smile White

In addition to using a take-home teeth whitener, another way to ensure your teeth are white and stain-free is to regularly brush your teeth at least twice daily and floss once daily. When you routinely clean your teeth, you are removing stains and plaque.

We strongly recommend using ADA-approved toothpastes, and we suggest avoiding whitening toothpastes as they are far more abrasive than regular toothpastes. You may also consider limiting your intake of foods and drinks that can stain your teeth, such as coffee, red wine, dark berries, soft drinks, chocolate, tomato sauce, and more.
